Monitoring of Mangrove Saplings

Our colleagues have been monitoring the growth of the 70 mangrove saplings planted by school students in February near Kampung Pasir Gogok. This activity marked the next phase of the mangrove pilot restoration initiative, which aims to assess the site’s suitability for long-term restoration and promote school/community-led conservation efforts. In May, we discovered that 68 out of the 70 saplings were growing and healthy – the results provided valuable insights into sapling survival, site conditions and potential for future expansion.
