Refund & Cancellation Policy
- Overview
This Refund Policy applies to payments made through Reef Check Malaysia’s website, including donations, Adopt seKarang contributions, programme or event payments, and purchases of physical merchandise, where available.
Reef Check Malaysia is a non-profit organisation. Donations and programme contributions help support marine conservation, reef rehabilitation, community marine conservation groups, education, and related activities in Malaysia.
- Donations and programme contributions
Donations, Adopt seKarang contributions, sponsorships, memberships, and other programme support payments are generally non-refundable once processed. These contributions are used to support Reef Check Malaysia’s conservation programmes and community work.
A refund may be considered only in limited circumstances, such as duplicate payments, incorrect payment amounts, technical payment errors, or other exceptional cases approved by Reef Check Malaysia.
If you believe a donation or contribution was made in error, please contact us as soon as possible with your name, payment date, payment amount, transaction reference, and proof of payment.
- Adoption contributions
Adoption programmes such as Adopt seKarang is a conservation contribution that supports coral reef restoration and local Community Marine Conservation Groups. Adoption programme contributions are not purchases of a physical coral or physical product and are generally non-refundable once processed.
Any e-certificate, social media acknowledgement, photo update, or similar recognition provided under Adopt seKarang is symbolic and intended to acknowledge the supporter’s contribution to conservation work.
- Event, workshop, or programme payments
Payments for events, workshops, trainings, registrations, or programme participation may be subject to the specific terms communicated for that activity. If an event or programme is cancelled by Reef Check Malaysia, we will inform affected participants of the available options, which may include a refund, transfer, credit, or rescheduling where applicable.
- Merchandise purchases
For physical merchandise purchased through Reef Check Malaysia, returns or exchanges may be considered within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is unused, in the same condition received, and in its original packaging.
To request a return or exchange, you must provide a receipt, order confirmation, or other proof of purchase. Please do not return an item without first contacting Reef Check Malaysia for instructions.
Merchandise that has been used, worn, washed, damaged after delivery, altered, or returned without its original packaging may not be eligible for a refund or exchange.
- Damaged or defective merchandise
If merchandise arrives damaged or defective, please contact Reef Check Malaysia as soon as possible with your order details and photographs of the item and packaging. Where approved, we may offer a replacement, exchange, refund, or other appropriate resolution, depending on availability and the circumstances.
- Refund processing
If a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original method of payment where possible. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, or payment gateway.
Reef Check Malaysia is not responsible for delays caused by banks, card issuers, payment gateways, or other third-party payment processors.
- Late or missing refunds
If you have been notified that a refund has been processed but have not received it, please first check with your bank, card issuer, or payment provider. If the refund is still not reflected after the relevant processing period, please contact Reef Check Malaysia with your transaction details.
- Shipping and return costs
For approved merchandise returns, you may be responsible for the cost of returning the item unless the return is due to an error by Reef Check Malaysia or a damaged or defective item confirmed by us.
Shipping costs are generally non-refundable unless otherwise agreed by Reef Check Malaysia. We recommend using a trackable shipping method for returned merchandise, as we cannot guarantee receipt of items sent without tracking.
- Tax-exempt receipts
Where a donation qualifies for a tax-exempt receipt, any approved refund or reversal may affect the validity or amount of that receipt. Reef Check Malaysia may require supporting information to process any correction, cancellation, or replacement of a receipt.
