Level up your diving game by diving with a purpose.
The best way to get involved in Reef Check Malaysia's conservation programmes is to join our survey trips! First, you will need to enroll in an EcoDiver course, which trains you to do Reef Check surveys.
Refer to the information sheet below to know more about our EcoDiver programme and the certification process. If you're already a diver, this could be an option for you!

how are surveys different from leisure dives?
Skill requirements:
High level of concentration and discipline
Good dive skills to avoid damaging the reefs
Able to hover motionless, horizontally and invertedly while recording data on the slate
course package
RM1,200 for Peninsular Malaysia and RM1,350 East Malaysia
Includes: Training materials, certification, trainer fee, diving facilities (6 to 7 dives, including pool)
Excludes: Equipment rental, accommodation, transportation, meals

You will first need to attend a diving pool session in PJ to assess buoyancy. After, you will need to complete a 3-day island-based training on Tioman Island and pass the tests in order to be certified as an EcoDiver.
Please sign up at least 2 weeks prior to your selected session date. Slots are first come, first served.

1. Only open to certified Reef Check Ecodivers
2. On a first come, first served basis

** Please note that RCM only covers the cost of survey dives unless stated otherwise.
** Please note that the dates provided are for the surveys only. Participants are advised to allocate an additional 2 days for travel to and from the location.
